Dispora Banten Gelar PEPARPEDA Olahraga Disabilitas di Kota Tangerang
Staf Ahli Gubernur Banten Bidang Kemasyarakatan dan Sumber Daya Manusia, Agus Setiawan. SEPUTARBANTEN.ID -Penjabat Gubernur Banten Al Muktabar menyatakan Pekan Paralympic Pelajar Daerah (PEPARPEDA) merupakan ajang persiapan atlet pelajar disabilitas.
Event ini bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan atlet disabilitas Provinsi Banten menghadapi Pekan Paralympic Pelajar Nasional (PEPARPENAS).
“Penyelenggaraan PEPARPEDA bagian pembinaan atlet disabilitas serta evaluasi keberhasilan program,” ujar Al Muktabar.
Sambutan tersebut disampaikan oleh Staf Ahli Gubernur Banten, Agus Setiawan, pada pembukaan PEPARPEDA VIII di Tangerang Convention Center.
“Kami berharap pembinaan olahraga disabilitas dijiwai semangat sportivitas dan fair play, menjunjung tinggi aturan dan persahabatan,” tambahnya.
Perkembangan olahraga disabilitas di Banten perlu perhatian untuk mencetak atlet yang mampu bersaing secara nasional.
“Diharapkan pada PEPARPENAS 2025 nanti, kita bisa memperbaiki peringkat dari tahun sebelumnya,” tegasnya.
Al Muktabar berpesan kepada atlet.
Pelatih, dan official untuk menjunjung tinggi sportifitas dan fair play serta meraih prestasi.
“Semangat berlatih, dan kepada wasit serta juri agar mengedepankan aturan tanpa keberpihakan,” katanya.
Pejabat terkait saat menekan bel simbolis Pembukaan PEPARPEDA Olahraga Disabilitas.
Ketua DPRD Banten Andra Soni mengapresiasi Pemprov Banten yang konsisten menjadikan Banten provinsi inklusif dan ramah disabilitas.
“PEPARPEDA adalah kesempatan bagi peserta paralympic menunjukkan kualitas dari hasil latihan,” ujarnya.
Pj Walikota Tangerang Nurdin bangga atas semangat luar biasa atlet, official, dan pelatih menyambut PEPARPEDA VIII Banten 2024.
“Kami menyambut para atlet dengan semangat dan kekeluargaan, menyiapkan tempat terbaik untuk kegiatan ini,” tuturnya.
Nurdin berharap pelaksanaan PEPARPEDA VIII berjalan lancar dan mendapat dukungan masyarakat.
“Terima kasih kepada Pemprov Banten yang mempercayai Tangerang sebagai tuan rumah,” jelasnya.
Kepala Dispora Banten Ahmad Syaukani mengatakan PEPARPEDA VIII 2024 puncak pembinaan olahraga pelajar disabilitas Banten.
“Ajang persiapan atlet disabilitas Banten menuju PEPARPENAS XVIII 2025,” ujarnya.
Syaukani menyampaikan tujuan PEPARPEDA VIII untuk mengukur pencapaian prestasi olahraga atlet disabilitas Banten.
Selain itu, ajang seleksi pembentukan tim pelajar disabilitas Banten untuk multi-event olahraga tingkat nasional.
“Tujuan lain mencetak calon atlet disabilitas Banten masa depan,” katanya.
Peserta PEPARPEDA VIII 2024 adalah atlet pelajar disabilitas dari seluruh kabupaten/kota di Banten, dengan total 224 peserta.
Kegiatan PEPARPEDA VIII berlangsung dari 2 hingga 5 Juli 2024 di Kota Tangerang.
Cabang olahraga yang diperlombakan meliputi atletik, bulutangkis, catur, boccia, tenis meja, dan renang.
Medali yang diperebutkan pada PEPARPEDA VIII 2024 sebanyak 195 medali, terdiri dari 61 emas, 61 perak, dan 73 perunggu.
